The band has moved home! Our Saturday rehearsals will now be held at Rye Oak Primary School. The school has been super welcoming, so we are very excited about making it our home. Meet at the school entrance in Whorlton Road, just off Peckham Rye at 9:30am on Saturday 17th September, for the first rehearsal of the new year.
Thanks to everyone for making this such a fabulous day.
Here are some pictures and video of the concert.
Southwark Training Orchestra are running a course at half-term (Wed 1st, Thu 2nd and Fri 3 June). You need to be in school year 5 – 11 and have grade 2 – 4. More details here if you are interested. And the sign on form is here.
There is a normal rehearsal this Saturday and then on Sunday we have a concert at Dulwich Fair. We are on the “Stage by the Cafe”. Please arrive by 12:00, we are on stage promptly at 12:30. Please bring music stands if you have been asked to by the tutors. Please wear your blue band t-shirt with dark trousers or skirt and dark shoes. We want to look smart!
If you don’t have a blue band t-shirt (or don’t have one that fits) please reply to this email and let us know your size. We’ll bring any needed spares on Sunday.
Details of the fair are available on the Dulwich Festival website http://dulwichfestival.co.uk/festival-fairs/. The address is: Dulwich Park, College Road, London SE21 7BQ. Parking will be busy in the area so public transport is recommended. Bus routes P4 (Lewisham-Brixton) and P13 (New Cross-Streatham) run alongside Dulwich Park. It is only a short walk to the park along Eynella Road from Dulwich Library and its adjacent bus stops for the 176, 12, 40 and 185 buses.
We have a stall at the fair and we will be running a Tombola and selling cakes to raise money for the band!
Please can you bring a something for the Tombola (a bottle, jar, box of chocolates or something similar!) and also any cakes for us to sell! Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who played and supported the band at the East Dulwich Christmas Cracker today. Our final concert of this term and a great one to finish the year with.
Have a great Christmas and New Year!
See you all in January!
